Welcoming Our New Associate Project Management Apprentices

Welcoming our new Associate Project Management Apprentices

The start of a new apprenticeship journey is always an exciting time, and this week was no exception as we welcomed our latest cohort of Associate Project Management learners!

The induction session brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds, industries, and experiences, all united by a common goal—building a future in project management. It was a chance for learners to meet their peers and gain a clear understanding of what lies ahead in their apprenticeship. Most importantly, it was an opportunity to get to know their Project Management Tutor, Amer, who provided insights into the programme and set the stage for their development over the next 15 months.

Hear from Our Project Management Tutor, Amer:

It was a great day today as I ran the induction for our new Associate Project Management apprenticeship learners. It was a fantastic opportunity for me to meet the learners and their managers, and to get to know a little about them including where they work, their experience, a little known or interesting fact about them, and their motivation for starting the apprenticeship. I was especially pleased as the cohort of learners came from very different backgrounds, different organisations, but all with the same vision of realising a future in Project Management.

As the Project Management Tutor here at LSP it was great for me to get to meet the learners and managers early to kickstart our relationship. I enjoyed taking them through the apprenticeship journey, and providing information on the Portfolio of Evidence, the Project, and End Point Assessment. I love the new apprenticeship standard as it allows for the learners to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours better than ever before. The only thing missing from the new standard is the APM PMQ which I feel is a great miss! However, here at LSP we still offer the opportunity for our learners to sit the PMQ, so it is there for those who want it, but at the same time it is not a barrier to achievement for the apprenticeship for those that don’t.

Overall, a very successful induction session where learners left with excitement and anticipation for the first workshop, and the rest of their apprenticeship journey. For me, being a part of this journey and witnessing their development over the next 15 months is an honour. To see the learners grow in competence and confidence, and to see them move on in their careers, knowing I had a part to play in that is exactly why I do what I do.

Here’s to all our future PM’s!!

Looking Ahead

With the induction complete, the real journey now begins! Over the next 15 months, the learners will have the opportunity to develop their skills, apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, and grow in confidence as they progress through the programme. Amer and the team here at LSP are excited to support them throughout this journey, offering guidance, encouragement, and expertise every step of the way.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new cohort and wish them the very best of luck as they embark on this exciting journey!
