Apprentice of the Month - September
To recognise the hard work of learners, our Tutors are nominating those who are doing exceptionally well throughout their apprenticeship to be awarded as our Apprentice of the Month.
Congratulations to Nicola Gardham who has been awarded as our Apprentice of the Month in September! Nicola is currently completing her Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship with Humber Tail Lifts (Motus) and was nominated by her tutor, Mandy.
Nicola’s Tutor, Mandy said:
“On receiving the Equality and Diversity Theme flyer this month, Nicola did not just read it and log it on her Tracker or just discuss it with me in her review, but took it and the suggestions contained within it to take part and mark International Day of Peace seriously, reflecting on the - Be kind to others, be thoughtful of people’s circumstances and share information that will help make the world a more understanding place.”
“Nicola acted decisively on this and took the decision that she would recognise those that had shown her kindness this month, had experienced their own troubles, had asked her for advice and support and those that had given her that input during the month too. To this end, Nicola decided she would make “care packages” and made 7 in total to then distribute to these people.”
“I was lucky enough to be one of these people she felt had shown her understanding and support and the other 6 included 2 colleagues she had helped overcome barriers to their role and the courses they attend and they in turn had supported her at work, others included friends and a family member.”
“This was truly inspirational and came as a great surprise. I found it humbling and touching to be included in those she felt had been kind, thoughtful and would benefit from a thanks through this care package, as I think those behaviours should be natural in all of us.”
“Nicola was motivated, thoughtful, and passionate about ensuring through her acts she could also feel the benefit of undertaking a “Random Act of Kindness” to others. Therefore for considering the needs of others, to identify the benefits to her of these actions and the individuals receiving them I would like to nominate her for Apprentice of the month.”
Congratulations Nicola for being awarded as LSP’s Apprentice of the Month. This is an amazing example of how to take part in our monthly equality and diversity themes. Thank you for being so thoughtful, it is clear that Mandy was grateful for the recognition.
