Armaan Ali - Berkeley
My name is Armaan and I currently work as an Apprentice Site Manager for Berkeley. I have been in this role for just under 3 months now, learning and being involved in the day-to-day operations of the current project I am at (Grand Union) and ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
I always had an interest in the construction industry, but I knew that I wanted to gain hands-on experience rather than just studying the trade in school. That's why I decided to pursue an apprenticeship in construction management.
Through my apprenticeship, I have had the opportunity to work on a huge project and learn from experienced professionals in the field. I have also been able to continue my education through formal classroom instruction and additional learning opportunities.
I have found my apprenticeship to be extremely valuable, not only in terms of the skills and knowledge that I am gaining, but also because of the hands-on experience and the opportunity to work with experienced professionals in the field. I have also been impressed with the support provided by my training provider (LSP) and my tutor, who have always been available to answer questions and provide guidance.
My apprenticeship has had a major impact on my career, as it has helped me gain the skills and knowledge I need to be a successful site manager. I believe that down the line I will have the confidence to oversee complex construction projects and make decisions that impact the success of the project.
If I were speaking to someone thinking of doing an apprenticeship, I would tell them that it is an excellent way to gain hands-on experience and build a successful career in a particular trade or industry. I would also advise them to be prepared for the hard work and dedication required during an apprenticeship and also be prepared for the fact that the path is not always linear.
I believe that employers should offer apprenticeship opportunities because they provide the opportunity to train and develop the next generation of skilled workers. My own employer has also benefited from their apprenticeship scheme, as it has allowed them to bring in fresh talent and create a more diverse and skilled workforce.
Overall, I believe my apprenticeship will be instrumental in helping me achieve my career goals and build a successful career in the construction industry. I would highly recommend an apprenticeship to anyone looking to gain hands-on experience and start a career in their chosen field.
