Demi-Leigh Charlton - Castle Trust Bank
NAW Case Study
My current role is a Customer Service Advisor for Castle Trust Bank. I am soon to be learning savings as well to increasing my knowledge within the company.
My apprenticeship has helped me to develop my Customer Service knowledge and expertise, and I have imbedded the majority of what I have learnt so far into my role.
I really enjoy my apprenticeship as it helps me to develop my skills whilst also working, which does give you a sense of independence as you don't feel like a student, even though you are learning as you go.
I also feel it is very beneficial as I can progress my knowledge whilst working to increase my skills constantly. I always feel as though I am learning something new and this is really refreshing as usually when you become more integrated in a role, this slowly starts to decrease, but with an apprenticeship, you are constantly learning which I really enjoy.
I would definitely recommend an apprenticeship to someone who is looking to learn new skills or build on their knowledge, as an apprenticeship is a really comprehensive way to do so. I feel as though if more companies were to offer apprenticeships, this would be really serviceable for them, as they may have more people inclined to apply as they are aware they will be learning on the job, and may not currently have the skills the job or role requires.
