Who is the Team Leader/ Supervisor Apprenticeship for?

A team leader/supervisor in a first line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.

Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.


Study Mode

  • Online with tutor led sessions

  • Blended learning with online and face to face sessions and support (at the employers premises)

  • There is an End Point Assessment for this Apprenticeship - This is when the Apprentice will demonstrate they have learnt the required knowledge, skills and behaviours.

Professional registration

On completion, apprentices may choose to register as Associate members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, to support their professional career development and progression.

How much does the Team Leader/ Supervisor Apprenticeship cost?

This programme costs £4,500 and is covered through a companies Apprenticeship Levy.

If the employer pays into the levy, the programme cost is fully covered through their levy contributions. For employers who do not pay into the levy, the payment structure is as follows:

  • Employers without a levy contribution will pay only 5% of the programme cost (£225) if the the apprentice is aged 22 or over.

  • Employers will receive full funding if the apprentice is aged 21 or under.
