Apprentice of the Month - February

Well done to our February Apprentice of the Month, Shama Patel! Shama is currently completing her Level 3 Project Controls Technician Apprenticeship with Siemens Energy.

LSP Tutor, Fiona said:

“Shama has adapted well to the challenge of learning how to use Primavera P6 software to develop and  enhance her project management skills. She is enjoying the training she is being given and is really keen to become more proficient and efficient in using the tool and has adapted well to using this to create more accurate and reliable schedules for the projects she works on. She has recently joined the planning and scheduling team and has adapted well to her new role, working flexibly across 3 main projects, managing her tasks and deadlines effectively.”

“During a discussion with myself and her Early Careers Manager, Shama demonstrated a real commitment to the principles of social justice and taking responsibility for promoting it and challenging injustice. She fully embrace values such as the equal worth of all citizens and their right to meet their basic needs and have equal access to wealth, health, wellbeing, justice and opportunity both in the UK and abroad.”

“Shama works with a diverse team of people supporting them across various projects and is working closely with a colleague who is helping her develop her skills using project software system Primevera 6. This has helped her to build positive and professional relationships with her colleagues and she embraces inclusion, treats everyone with mutual respect and is a trusted and well respected team member.”

“Shama’s commitment to her continuous personal and professional growth and her active engagement with more experienced colleagues within the team is something she highly values and she recognises the importance of learning from those with greater expertise. She values the wealth of knowledge present within her team and works proactively with them to gain insights, leveraging their expertise to enhance her own skills and understanding of her role. This has enabled her to develop technical skills that she can apply within her apprenticeship learning and development.”

“Shama is currently volunteering with a Siemens charity partner and spends 30 minutes a week with her designated child, a 5 year old boy, helping him to develop his reading skills. She is passionate about this and they spend their time together reading to each other and playing word games to develop his reading skills. She finds it exceptionally rewarding and inspiring and is proud to be part of her young child’s learning journey.”
