Apprentice of the Month - September
To recognise the hard work of learners, our Tutors are nominating those who are doing exceptionally well throughout their apprenticeship to be awarded as our Apprentice of the Month.
A huge well done to Lucy Dobson who has been awarded as our September Apprentice of the Month. Within her busy job role at Hendersons, Lucy has just recently completed her Level 3 Team Leader Supervisor Standard and was nominated by her tutor Mandy.
Lucy has implemented new processes within HIBL. Changing the staff induction process, the current staff 1-1 system and the training programme that is delivered to Claims staff at all HIBL sites. These have been well received by management and staff at the receiving end.
Lucy has worked harder than most and has gone over and above to produce some excellent work. Completing extra teaching sessions with her tutor, Mandy and dedicated hours of her own time in to her qualification. This hard work and commitment was rewarded when Lucy received three Distinctions and a Merit for her outstanding work.
Lucy’s next steps include a maternity break and plans to complete her ILM Management qualification when she returns to work.
Lucy has shown initiative, planning and dedication to her team and HIBL to ensure that her staff team grows and develops. Lucy manages her staff team effectively and recognises their training requirements and advocates that this training is given to grow her teams knowledge and abilities. Lucy has the full support of her team and is widely respected within HIBL.
Lucy has taken to her Management Apprenticeship like a duck to water, continually learning new skills and then implementing them with her teams at HIBL. She has engaged with her apprenticeship at every step and has demonstrated dedication to completing assignments on time. Lucy has worked closely with her tutor, spending extra time to complete work before she take her maternity leave.
Lucy’s tutor Mandy said:
“Lucy is engaged, proactive, and has dedicated the required time to her apprenticeship. On discovering she was pregnant, she upped the planned study time, interacting with me for additional resources, learning and worked diligently on her project, recognising the benefits to all parties and communicating this to her teams/colleagues to ensure they were engaged also. Lucy managed the changes she made effectively and efficiently. I have found her to be an engaged learner who has been a pleasure to work with, teach and support through the attainment of the Level 3 Team Leading Standard."
You truly are an asset to your employer, HIBL and your team Lucy. Well done!
We would also like to congratulate Bethany, who is also completing her Level 3 Customer Service apprenticeship with HIBL. She has bravely stepped up to take on Lucy’s role in her absence. Bethany has striven with the more leading duties and ensured all has been running smoothly ready for Lucy’s return.
