After successfully completing her Level 2 Business Administration apprenticeship with JN Bentley, Sunnah has now up-skilled onto Level 3 to further develop her knowledge within her role.

Before starting her first apprenticeship Sunnah was attending school and completing her GCSE’s in History, Business and Textiles. The apprenticeship route was Sunnah’s first choice after finishing school, she said:

“I chose an apprenticeship because I wanted to gain experience working in the real world along with studying a subject that I wanted to take further. I wanted to work my way up and learn the different opportunities that would be out there for me.”

Since starting her Level 2 apprenticeship Sunnah has developed a wide range of knowledge and skills to enable her to carry out her job role with JN Bentley. Currently based at the Great Yarmouth site, Sunnah works alongside a team of experienced staff including Designers, Site Managers, Site Engineers, Project Coordinators and Information Managers.

“I have learnt a lot about working, life skills, about maintaining a business and how to become successful. Over the year I have picked up a lot about having responsibilities and understanding how a project and a team works. By working I have learnt a lot about life skills: saving money, being on time, having a set mindset and actually how to work. I have learnt that being part of a team and working in a team is very important. Also my communication skills have developed, leading me to be more confident in my work. I have built many relationships with the teams within my office and this helps as I can intersect with others as a team. I have learnt how to assist a team and a project and how every role has a massive impact on getting the project finished and completed.

As part of her apprenticeship Sunnah has also completed and achieved Functional Skills qualifications in ICT and maths which has had a great impact on her skills. Sunnah is now exited to be able to move forwards with her development on her Level 3 apprenticeship and learn as much as she can to enable her to work her way up into a management role.
