Charity Bike Ride - Hadrian's Wall
Members of the LSP team have recently completed our first sponsored bike ride along Hadrian's Wall in memory of one of our colleagues close friend and partner's beautiful little boy, Lewin.
Lewin was born a healthy baby boy in August 2018, however after a five day fight in Hull Royal Infirmary, and being wrongly diagnosed, he sadly passed away with Viral Myocarditis. The LSP team have now set out to raise money and awareness for the amazing charity, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in memory of Lewin. CRY is a charitable organisation helping to raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death, including sudden arrhythmic death syndrome. All money donated on our Just Giving page will go towards funding a local heart screening day for 100 young people.
The Hadrian’s Wall bike ride was a great success and took place over two days on 7th and 8th September. The ride began in Bowness-on-Solway and finished many miles later on the east coast in Newcastle, where Lewin’s mum greeted the team at the end of their long journey. Our support vehicle for the ride was kindly provided by Motus Commercials and Pentagon Group, which was a huge help to give the team time to rest. We were also able to raise awareness over the two days with the help of our magnetic signs donated by Kerry Tully, Managing Director of Total Signs & Graphics in Grimsby.
The LSP team and Lewin’s family are thankful for all of the ongoing support and donations we have received towards this fantastic cause. We have raised a total of £522 so far following our first bike ride, however it is not too late to donate. Any donations towards our next 24-hour indoor bike ride challenge on 26th and 27th November would be greatly appreciated to help us to achieve our £1000 target.
