Celebrating Apprenticeship Success: LSP Learners Shine at the EDA Learning Achievement Awards

Since 2019, LSP has worked closely with EDA Apprenticeships Plus to deliver high-quality Trade Supplier Apprenticeships. With an impressive 83% achievement rate in 23/24, our partnership continues to create real opportunities for apprentices in the electrical wholesale industry.

This success was recently highlighted at the Electrical Distributors’ Association (EDA) Learning Achievement Awards, on 7th March, which highlights outstanding performance in an apprenticeship and/or EDA Product Knowledge Modules over the past year. This year, two exceptional LSP learners were among the award winners:

  • Joshua Smith (EDA Apprenticeships Plus – Western Automation)

  • Callum Ford (EDA Apprenticeships Plus – CEF)

Both learners have shown incredible commitment and their awards are a reflection of their hard work. Their enthusiasm and determination have set them apart, showing just how valuable apprenticeships are in developing skilled professionals for the industry.

The event, held at The Shard in London, was attended by Dylan, LSP’s Head of Partnerships, and LSP Tutor, Damien.

Damien, who has been instrumental in guiding both Joshua and Callum, shared his thoughts on supporting apprentices in the sector:

"It was an honour to attend this year’s EDA Awards and a privilege to contribute to the nominations of two apprentices I have had the pleasure of working closely with throughout their apprenticeship. Witnessing first-hand the positive impact on not only the apprentices themselves but also their managers, families, and others inspired to succeed in this industry was truly rewarding. The event effectively showcased the exciting opportunities available to those pursuing this career path, and moving forward, I will continue to actively promote the EDA and the opportunities it offers to my apprentices."

LSP’s strong relationship with EDA Apprenticeships Plus continues to support apprentices across the industry, giving them the knowledge, experience, and qualifications to build long-term careers. With such a successful partnership, more learners will have the chance to follow in Joshua and Callum’s footsteps—proving that apprenticeships are a fantastic route into the industry!
