Line Manager of the Month - May

To recognise the continuous encouragement provided by line managers, our learners and tutors are nominating those who are offering outstanding support to be in for a chance of being awarded as the Line Manager of the Month.

Congratulations to our May Line Manager of the Month, Rajul Jhalla!

Rajul was nominated by his learner, Estelle, who is currently completing her Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with Morgan’s Direct.

Estelle said:

“My Manager Raj will engage me in many different ways that appeals to me. He teaches me new things every day and will always make sure I understand everything he’s shown me. He communicates with everyone in the office to make sure we all understand our tasks and manages to have a laugh with us at the same time. He doesn’t just engage us as a team, he creates a lively atmosphere in the office that motivates me. Raj will be able to tell by my facial expressions if I confidently understand something, this shows me he’s taken time to learn about each and every one of us in the office and if I don’t look or sound confident he will always reassure me and explain things again in a different way.”

“Raj will always listen to any queries we have; he will stop what he’s doing to help all of us. Whatever the time of day, he will always make time to listen to us whether it is face to face or over the phone. As an apprentice, he really does make me feel valued and that my opinions matter. As well as listening, he will always offer a solution, which simplifies a lot of things for me. This shows that he takes everything in and thinks outside the box.”

“Ever since I started this apprenticeship, Raj has always encouraged me to do my best in every area of my workload and also taught me how to generalise that in my everyday routine. Encouragement is a form of support and Raj has always made sure the team have had that. This has helped us to strive to our full potential and making sure that all our tasks are met and completed at a high level. He’s made me gain confidence in a lot of areas for e.g. answering the phone to customers which I found hard in the beginning as I was very shy. Raj guided me through everything and prepped me in order for me to reach the level I am at now and can honestly say that without his help and encouragement I couldn’t have done it without him. As well as a manager he’s helped me build on my character skills and manage to build up my confidence.”

“Raj has shown me the values and aims of the business. Ensuring that the workload is up to a high standard, also communicating with the team to see where and how everybody is doing and where they are at in regard to their work. Raj will always find different ways to improve the business, which can be certain things that I have responsibility of, and that really improves my skills of adapting and learning a lot more. I feel like I have learnt so much since I have started.”

“Everyone in the team and my manager is very truthful. If there was a mistake that my manager was accountable for, he would take full responsibility, as everyone else would. I’ve learnt that these are lessons as it teaches you where you have gone wrong and how to improve from this. If there were no mistakes being made, we would never learn. We are all very vocal and speak out on any mistakes that have been made and my manager does help and explain things in a different aspect to where we understand things a lot better.”

“There is a lot of trust between me and my manager. Whether it is in regard to work or general life, Raj is very trustworthy and gives you a sense of comfortability and support. It helps knowing that you can be vocal in confidence especially at a place of work. I know that when I’m told something will be done by such date, it is met. This is because there is organisational skills and communication between one another. This is an example of trust as I have never been let down or given false information. Trust can seem like a basic thing to have but it is very hard to find trustworthy people in this day and age. I’m very happy to have trust with my manager.”

“My Manager creates an amazing atmosphere in the office just by his presence. Raj will check up on all of us and make sure everyone Is great as well as our work/tasks. He values all of us in the office which makes the presence and bond stronger as a team. He never fails to make us laugh and make our day enjoyable no mater how stressful certain days can be. This makes our office very lively and bubbly. It’s a great workspace and couldn’t ask for a better manager and team.”

Congratulations Rajul for this fantastic nomination! Estelle is very lucky to have such a supportive and trusting manager. The amazing support and encouragement that Estelle receives will have a huge positive impact on her career progression and the successful completion of her apprenticeship.
