Line Manager of the Month - July
To recognise the continuous encouragement provided by line managers, our learners and tutors are nominating those who are offering outstanding support to be in for a chance of being awarded as the Line Manager of the Month.
Congratulations to Ben Boden for being awarded as our Line Manager of the Month in July! Ben is the line manager to both James Ryan and Uzma Pathan at Kier Highways where they are completing their Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard.
It is clear that Ben is engaged in James and Uzma’s learning and continually invests his time to ensure both are on track and happy with their workload, providing help and advice at any time.
James Ryan said:
“As an employer, Ben is very engaged and interested in seeing both myself and Uzma succeed in our apprenticeships. Personally, there have been times when Ben has been more engaged than me with my project and that is good to see from my manager.”
“I find it so easy to talk to Ben about everything when it comes to the apprenticeship course. He is one of those people who will take time to listen and then help wherever and whenever he can.”
“I have found Ben to be a very accountable person and employer. If there is anything that I need help with, especially with coursework, Ben will take it upon himself to make sure that my issue or query is resolved.”
“Ben is 100% someone that I feel I trust. In the time that I have worked with him, I know that if Ben says that he will do something, he will always follow up what he has said. He also does his best to fulfil anything he has promised.”
“In conclusion, Ben is just a great person to be around and that really comes across in the way that he manages. When you speak to him, you can see that he genuinely enjoys his role and that he is very invested in getting both myself and Uzma the best grade from the apprenticeship. Ben has gone out of his way to make provisions when it comes to being full time employees and overall, it would be very good to see Ben be awarded for his continuous support and encouragement.”
Uzma Pathan said:
“Ben’s approachable manner allows me to ask him for help and advice even for the smallest things.”
“Ben has been very helpful with the project and has made it clear he is happy to help whenever.”
“Ben splits his time between two different locations, managing both sides whilst taking up extra work. Kier is lucky to have him.”
“During my apprenticeship course, Ben has been attending every meeting with my tutor and has made sure I have time during the week to work on my portfolio and project.”
Natalie (Ben’s Line Manager) said:
“Ben’s supportive and genuinely caring ethos means he is liked and respected by everyone fortunate enough to work with and for him. It would be great to see Ben win an accolade formally celebrating the attributes he displays every day.”
“His enthusiastic outlook helps us all cope with difficulty, and his work ethic and determination set a great example to those he line manages”
Wesley (Ben’s colleague) said:
“As a manager I also admire the way that he looks after his team, nothing is too much trouble.”
“I personally count him as irreplaceable, he is always a step ahead, and my work is easier with his input.”
“Ben is very intelligent, but it is his compassion and patience which always puts the people around him at ease.”
A huge well done to Ben for the amazing nomination.
