Line Manager of the Month - November

Congratulations to our November Line Manager of the Month, Gabrielle Selman.

Gabrielle was nominated by her learners Aaron and Alex, who are currently completing their Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship at JCT6000.

Alex:

“Since starting my apprenticeship Gabrielle has always been supportive. Since the change in management and her stepping up into overlooking the business, she has not once stopped putting time into helping myself and Aaron. Personally, I feel I would not be where I am currently in my role if Gabrielle wasn’t there to help. Gabrielle is supportive through everything and always goes above and beyond for us as apprentices but also the entire centre. Throughout the year here at jct600 I couldn’t have asked for a better manager. She has shown a strong work ethic and always puts the team first, striving to make sure we achieve all targets and be the best we can. It is incredible. She certainly reflects the values we have as a business, both inside and outside the workplace.”

Aaron:

“In my time here at the CSC I have pushed myself to achieve the best outcomes and Gabrielle has always been there to give her assistance in achieving my goals in both my work and my apprenticeship. If Alex or I ever needed any help in our roles Gabrielle would always be there to assist with any query that we had. Overall, I feel Gabrielle has been the best manager she can be and has been supportive the whole way through mine and Alex’s time at the CSC”.

Tutor, Robert:

Gabrielle has been one of the most supportive line managers I have ever had the privilege to work with. She has Alex and Aaron’s best interests at heart and always strives to enable them to be the best that they can be. She is an inspiration to her team and would be a deserving winner of this award.

Gabrielle actively supports Alex and Aaron's progress by offering guidance on capturing work evidence and applying it to the standard. She arranges extensive training and provides constructive feedback to create an environment of continuous improvement.  She has been extremely flexible with both Aaron and Alex, allowing them extra time and resources when and wherever needed to help them achieve their qualification.

Gabrielle never compromises on doing the right thing. She is firm but fair with Alex and Arron and is well respected because of that. She supports mental health first aid and has mentioned the support network available at JCT600 several times during our reviews.

Gabrielle extends support to Alex and Aaron beyond Robert’s teaching sessions, allocating dedicated time for their assignments. Her evident concern for their success is demonstrated both in the workplace and throughout the apprenticeship. She has had additional time with them to help rehearse their Professional Discussions and Showcase Presentations which has really supported them and given them so much more confidence.

Gabrielle wants the best for Alex and Aaron and inspires them to be the best version of themselves that they can be. She has been heavily involved in developing their personal development plans and has provided numerous opportunities for CPD. For Alex, this included a trip to the Pirelli factory!

Gabrielle is committed to collaborating with Robert to support Alex and Aaron in their apprenticeship. As an excellent communicator, she consistently informs Robert of updates, not just during progress reviews.
