Get to know the the LSP Team
As part of a regular feature we would like to give an insight into the LSP team members. It is always nice to find out a little more about those we work alongside and many of our staff have a wealth of knowledge, interests and hobbies that would really surprise you!
Meet Katie Walker
Digital Media and Marketing Assistant
What sort of duties do you have at work?
Within my role I assist with the planning and execution of the marketing plan to help reach LSP’s goals and objectives. My main responsibilities include social media, blogs, email marketing, website updates, campaigns and creating marketing material such as booklets/flyers or graphics. I also assist with the content on our VLE (Canvas) to ensure the LSP brand is consistent throughout.
What is the most exciting part of your job?
The most exciting part of my job is definitely sharing positive stories on our website and social media, whether that be a case study or our apprentice/line manager of the month it’s great to be able to promote the amazing achievements of our learners. I also enjoy creating LSP’s theme booklets which provide learners with information on important topics each month.
What is the best place you have travelled to?
The best place I have travelled to has to be Es Cana in Ibiza. I have been back 5 times since!
Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
I don’t have any hidden talents or hobbies, however I do occasionally create digital dog portraits. I have had people make multiple orders from as far as Australia which is exciting!
Do you have any pets?
I have a Shih-Poo called Stanley who is 1 this month and a 2-year-old Syrian hamster called Marty.
What do you do in your spare time (if you have any)?
In my spare time I am usually on walks with my dog, gaming or watching Netflix.
What is your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement has to be progressing into my current role with LSP and completing my Level 2/Level 3 Business Administration and Level 3 Social Media apprenticeships. I began as an Apprentice Compliance Coordinator with LSP back in 2015 and 6 years later I am now in my dream role!
What is the dream car you would love to drive?
I would love to drive (and own) a Subaru WRX STI
The best piece of advice you would give to your 16-year-old self?
The best piece of advice I would give to my 16 year old self would be to consider my options after school. Rather than going straight to college I would have learnt so much more by enrolling on an apprenticeship and gaining the hands-on experience. I would also tell myself to start saving now - moving out is expensive!
